About this event:
7 FREE SESSIONS • TUES 10, 17, 24, 31 OCT, 7, 14, 21 NOV 2017 • 10:00 am — 4:00 pm
Over the course of this programme, you will learn how to make your own short tour of Exeter, sharing your stories, ideas, and responses to the city. Working together we will use conversation and play to help find what is that we want to say about our city, and ways we might say it. You will learn all about the art of storytelling, from planning a narrative, to the importance of storytelling in society.
The tours will be in the form of podcasts, and in creating the tours, you will learn skills of audio recording and editing. You will use microphones to record sounds of the city, as well as yourself, before arranging the material and adding music and sound effects. No previous experience is required, and you will learn these skills through practice and experimentation.
Asking questions about your own stories as well as the stories of others will be key to this programme and a great way to meet other people and learn how others see the city. At the end of the project, the tours will be made accessible to the public, who will then be able to see Exeter from your perspective.
The course will be co-tutored by Learning Innovator Fiona Carden, and theatre-maker Hugh McCann.
All are welcome!
