RACE EQUALITY PROJECT WORKER

Plymouth & Devon Racial Equality Council (PDREC) is a local voluntary organisation working to challenge racial discrimination and promote equality of opportunity between different ethnic groups in Devon. We wish to recruit an experienced and self-motivated person to join our small and committed staff team in the Plymouth office.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Race Equality Project Worker, committed to anti discriminatory practice with experience of supporting and empowering children and young people, and working in multicultural settings.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of direct work with children & young people, particularly those from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, and a sound understanding of the impact of racism and discrimination. Further practical experience of identity work, group work and advocacy work is strongly desirable.
Candidates must also be available to work some evenings, weekends and during school holidays.
